Sold this painting last month at Main Street Gallery in Weaverville CA 🙂 ‘Open Range’, was from my Great Basin series about 8 years ago and I had not shown it since then. I painted it from a blurry reference photo I took driving through Eastern Oregon, near Jordon Valley.
Recently I was generously gifted a big bag of small gourds, they were a bit blemished and thin, but had nice form. I was wondering what to make of them while admiring a collection of rocks I have near my front door… I took a few into my work room and had fun!
